Thumpy Course at MIK, Schijndel, Holland

Hello Wil! After the Flute Day at our music institute MIK (Schijndel, Holland) various students were most excited about your Thumpy Flute. With great enthusiasm they already started to play the Thumpy using your Thumpy Book as well as improvising their own things. Also, we - Leonie and myself - are going to start a short Thumpy course of about 8 till 10 lessons. For information look at the site of our institute: Meierijsche Instellingen voor Kunsteducatie (MIK).
We surely will keep you posted.
Best regards by Jos Aerts. (Visit his Pan Flute Home Page)

At home I have been working with the Thumpy flute, since I realy intend to introduce this funny instrument to my pupils. Most pity that the video dit not work on my laptop…(?). I also enjoyed the photo series of the Fluta Day on the internet. Thanks and till next time.

Young Thumpy Artist in Vienna

During my travels I frequently encounter wonderful surprises related to Thumpy. On 21 May 2005 I was invited by the Wiener Floetenwerkstatt to present a workshop and participating their event ‘Abenteuer Querflöte’ (Flute Day 2005) at the Institute Franz Schubert of the University of Music in Vienna. There I meet many wonderful players and teacher. Then, I meet one flute teacher (i am very soory I am still looking for her correct name…), who presents me two photographs: one shows her 4-year old student playing the Thumpy. The other photograph shows a compositon for Thumpy, made by this very young student. when I later also met the girl, I was most impressed so many imagination and creativity at such a young age! (I was so free to use her photo’s for publication, with lots thanks to her teacher.)
